I'm stronger after birth

I wanted to let you know our little girl, Alma, was born 22nd January, 3.02kg, and she is just a dream.  Born at 42 weeks, we were induced after a couple of attempts at the stretch and sweep, then waters broken and still nothing was happening so onto the Synto for 18 hours and tonnes of gas later she was born vaginally and Joaquin, her father, was there to catch her. We were both healthy, so skin to skin straight away and she found my nipple within 15 minutes. 

Your active birth workshop filled us with knowledge and confidence, and with our very supportive midwife we felt empowered to make decisions along the way. We both feel like we gave it all our best shot and did what we needed to when it was needed. A really positive experience over all. Despite, and I think even because of, the intensity of the contractions due to the Synto, I feel powerful, like I could do just about anything now!  So thank you for sharing your knowledge and wisdom with the world! 

We're settling in well and enjoying getting to know Alma as her personality comes out. She is so calm and sweet, sleeping quite well now.
