Birth taught me of the power and infinite wisdom within me

We just wanted to share with you our little baby girl joined us earthside 2 weeks ago. She was born at home. It’s what she chose all along. 

I went into spontaneous labour at 42 plus 3 (or 41 plus 3 officially!) I was on my own for most of the labour, in our apartment overlooking the ocean, sunset and dusk. It was powerful and fast (after stop start overnight and through the day). Matt and the midwife only just made it to the birth! Matt caught the baby and we sank to our knees together in shock and complete awe. 

I used the breath we went over with you, I remembered the big breath at the start of surges to welcome it and that kept me calm. I lay down and rested a lot during the labour (which in retrospect I think helped turn her from posterior). 

When pushing I remembered the low noises to breath her out. She came in two pushes with her waters!! We are so grateful for our session with you - it really anchored us and brought us clarity in our intentions.

This birth taught me of the power and infinite wisdom within me and my body. Being at home, trusting my body to go into labour when it was ready and birthing my placenta naturally was healing and affirming.
